The Righteous In Government

The Righteous In Government

Proverbs 11:10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, [there is] shouting.

It is true that a wicked man is an enemy of the righteous and a good society. The wicked is prejudiced against God and godliness, and is therefore angry to see good men in power and governance. But all persons, even those that have no interest in God, have a good word for a good man. Therefore when the righteous is in power, and when they are advanced and put into a capacity of doing good according to their desire, it is better for all in the society and so the city rejoices. For the honor of humanity, encouragement of righteousness, and the accomplishment of the promise of God for Nigeria, we must vote virtuous men into the government of our country, and vote out the corrupt and wicked.

Wicked people have few well-wishers among those who are wicked as themselves, but among the generality of their citizens they may be feared, but they are not loved, and therefore when they perish there is shouting; everybody takes a pleasure in seeing them disgraced and disarmed, removed out of places of trust and power. There is good reason for this, because those that are good do well, but wickedness proceeds from the wicked. Good men are public blessings. By the blessing of the upright, they bless their society. Their advice, their example, their prayers they become useful to the public.

Wicked men are like cancer that spread. When elected into position of power they corrupt good people with their wickedness. The city is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked, whose evil communications corrupt good manners, and are enough to destroy a country, to ruin godliness in it, and bring down the judgments of God upon it.

Dear reader, I encourage you to go out today with your voting power to remove all wicked people out of the place of trust and power. Go out today and use your voting power to stop all the wicked who want to rule our country.

Meditation Point
When the upright have power, the people are glad; when an evil man is ruler, grief comes on the people.

Prayer Point

  1. Let us ask God for a peaceful, free and fair election today.
  2. Ask god to frustrate the intention of the wicked to rule Nigeria
  3. Pray for the peace of Nigeria
  4. Pray for internally displaced brothers and sisters in Nigeria

The Sin of Envy

The Sin of Envy

Proverbs 27:4 Wrath [is] cruel, and anger [is] outrageous; but who [is] able to stand before envy?
Envy is a displeasure or trouble arising in a man's mind from the sight or knowledge of another man's prosperity, and causing a man to hate such a person, and try to ruin him. Envy commonly arises at the sight of the prosperity of people you think you are better than. People do not envy things or persons that are much above them.

Dear reader, never allow the prosperity of another person to make you unhappy. This is the sin of envy. Do you remember the case of King Saul, on the occasion of David killing Goliath? King Saul envied David for killing Goliath and for years he tried to kill him. God finally rejected King Saul because of this wickedness.

Envious people never agree that they are envious. They disguise it under a mighty pretended zeal for the truth; or a great love for the public welfare; or a great concern for the credit of their neighbor. From this moment decide to live free from envy.

I once read a story of two persons. They were Mr. Covetous and the other Mr. Envious. Once upon a time a certain rich man promised to grant whatever they should ask; but double to him who should ask last. Mr. covetous man would not ask first, because he wished to get the double portion, and Mr. Envious man would not make the first request because he could not bear the thoughts of how his action will benefit Mr. Covetous. However, at last Mr. Envious requested that one of his eyes should be taken out, in order that Mr. Covetous might lose both.

In Proverbs 27:4, the wise man compares envy with two very bad tempers of man's mind, wrath and anger. He said worse than these, unkind and demonic, violent and mischievous, is envy.
Sometimes a man's blessings actually inflame the hearts of the envious. The case of Cain and Abel; of Esau and Jacob; of the brethren of Joseph; of Saul and David, etc are some examples of envy in the bible.

Meditation Point
Mere anger is temporary; but envy, like a poisonous serpent, is ever secretly watching for an opportunity to strike its victim. Beware of those who envy you for your success, they are very dangerous.

Prayer Point
  1. Confess every sin of envy in your heart today and ask for cleansing and deliverance in Jesus name
  2. Ask God to protect you from secret envy of the wicked in Jesus name

War Against Sanballat

War Against Sanballat

Nehemiah 4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

Samaria was the deadly enemy of Jerusalem; and Sanballat was the governor of Samaria. And Sanballat was a very jealous man. He was not content with doing his very best to make Samaria where he was governor both prosperous and powerful, but he labored also to do his very best to keep Jerusalem downtrodden and destroyed. Therefore when Sanballat heard that Nehemiah had come from Shushan with a commission from King Artaxerxes of Babylon to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, the news made Sanballat totally jealous and angry. Sanballat diabolically plotted and conspired with many other people both to murder Nehemiah and to destroy the New Jerusalem.

Sanballat is an outstanding example of how the enemy distracts us from building. Satan will always send wicked, malicious, jealous and hostile people who will distract you from your assignments. Dear reader, stay focus on your plans for the year. Refuse to be pulled into unnecessary confrontation this year with people who are busy bodies and want to derail you from you visions. Stay focused in Jesus name.

Sanballat is also an outstanding example of the sleepless malice of all your enemies. Dear reader, never forget that while you are working to improve your life, the enemy is also working to pull you down.  Every good work attracts opposition from the devil and his agent. But not notwithstanding that opposition this year whatever you purpose to build will be completed in Jesus name.

Meditation Point
Every divine project goes on to completion, when people have a mind to fight. The opposition of enemies should fire us up to build, not drive us from it.

Prayer Point
The enemy is wicked, mighty, and malicious, experienced and exciting others against me, Lord Hide me in your secret place as I serve and honor you this year. Disappoint their secret plots against me
